Golden pheasants are most active and likely to display during the early morning and late afternoon ("magic hours"). While they are shy and tend to hide, males may perform courtship displays to females during the spring mating

During courtship, the male golden pheasant dances around the females, making high-pitched chirping noises as he does so. As he runs around the females, he draws his beautiful golden neck and cheek feathers across his beak, almost like a cape while making a high-pitched metallic sound. Look how the deep orange "cape" can be spread in display, 

appearing as an alternating black and orange fan that covers all of the face except its bright yellow eye with a pinpoint black pupil.

Amazing Timminck's Tragopan

 

Extraordinary display of the Temminck's tragopan pheasant @ Miaoba village ,重慶市

The Temminck's tragopan (Tragopan temminckii) performs a spectacular courtship display, where the male inflates a bright, liver-shaped throat lappet (bib) and facial horns, colored in vivid blue and red. The male vibrates this display to attract females during mating season, often accompanied by a loud, booming moan.
