Sakhon Nakhon
Sakon Nakhon (Thai: สกลนคร, pronounced [sā.kōn ná(ʔ).kʰɔ̄ːn]) is a city (thesaban nakhon) in Thailand within the Isan region, and capital city of Sakon Nakhon Provinceas well as Mueang Sakon Nakhon District, with a population of approximately 76,000. Sakon Nakhon covers the whole tambon of That Choeng Chum and parts of tambonsNgio Don, Huai Yang, Dong Mafai, That Na Weng and Hang Hong. Sakon Nakhon is 651 km (405 mi) north-east of Bangkok by road.
The province is on the Khorat Plateau, not far from the Mekong. The Nong Hanlake, the biggest natural lake of northeast Thailand, near the city of Sakon Nakhon, is a popular resort. The Phu Phan Mountains delimit the province to the south. The total forest area is 1,692 km2 (653 sq mi) or 17.7 percent of provincial area.[1]

Flora
- Didymocarpus brevicalyx: A distinct Gesneriaceae species that was discovered and described in the province. It is known to grow on sandstone boulders within the park's evergreen forest ecosystems. - Microchirita species: Several members of the Microchirita genus have also been documented in the area's sandy and limestone soils. This genus is highly diverse in Thailand, with dozens of species ranging across the country.
- พรหมมาสตร์ (Paraboea burttii): พืชถิ่นเดียวของไทย ที่พบในป่าดงดิบชื้น แผ่นใบด้านล่างมีขนสานคล้ายใยแมงมุม และถูกเรียกในท้องถิ่นแถบสกลนครว่า "หญ้าขี้ทูด"
